Ridiculously Easy Ways You can Go Green and Save the Planet

Saving the planet doesn’t have to be tiresome, difficult, challenging, or even take you much time at all. The truth is, saving the planet can be done by simply changing a few things you do in your everyday life. Nobody is asking you to go out and hug trees, but you should try to contribute to a greener life and planet before it’s too late! Let’s take a look at some ridiculously easy ways you can save the planet:

 Change Your Lights

Replacing your regular light bulbs with fluorescent bulbs will save loads of energy and money. If you don’t like how the colour looks, don’t worry – simply change the bulbs in rooms that don’t matter so much, like closets, laundry rooms, and other places. Your bespoke wallpaper will still look as good in this light!

Turn Off Your Computers at Night

You can save a ton of energy by turning off your computer when not in use rather than just leaving it on standby.

Don’t Preheat the Oven

Unless you’re about to make some bread or pastry, then there’s no need to preheat the oven. Simply turn it on when you put the dish in. Plus, you can check through the oven door rather than opening it to see how your food is doing.

Recycle Glass

Recycled glass can literally take a million years to decompose, but recycled glass reduces air pollution by 20 percent and even water pollution by 50 percent.

Go Veggie Once a Week

One less meal that involves meat per week will help the planet as well as your diet. You’ll even save trees by doing this!

Recycle Newspaper

Too many papers are thrown away these days rather than recycled. If we just recycled the Sunday paper, we could save half a million trees per week!

Turn of the Tap When Brushing Your Teeth

If you stop running the water while brushing your teeth, you could save 5 gallons of water a day. This really adds up over the course of a day and a lifetime. You don’t need to leave the tap running, so don’t do it!

Take a Shorter Shower

Cut 2 minutes off your daily shower and you could save as much as 10 gallons of water! It really does make a huge difference when you look at the bigger picture.

Recycle Your Old Phones

Selling your old mobile will stop your phone from going to a landfill and releasing toxic substances in the environment.

Recharge Your Batteries

Forking out the initial cost for rechargeable batteries will pay off in no time. You’ll always have batteries then when you need them, even in the most unexpected of times.

See? By simply altering your daily behaviour you can save the planet. A greener life doesn’t have to be a drag, just be a little mindful of what you’re doing and soon it’ll become second nature. Our planet needs more green people like you, so let’s save it together!
